How does everyone like the new CM Crossroads website?

I am having a devil of a time trying to locate the process to add users and amend permissions in ClearCase windows. It has been a while since I have done it and I can't seem to find anything in the Admin Manual that tells me how to do this. I am sure that you guys have the answer.

Where have all the forums gone on this site?

Seriously what have you done to the site?!?!?

I am trying to set up a automated promote from a non workspace stream to its parent on a daily basis. What is recommended?

1. To create an xml and use promote?

2. To directly promote everything from pending?

What difference it would make if we use xml's?

Note: We have change package trigger on. My plan is to promote all pending issues.

Thank you.

I need to be able to add the LOAD Module (no source) to Endevor that have alias. The vendor load library has many loads with alias, and I can't figure out how to ADD them to Endevor.

My GLOD processor works perfectly for those modules without ALIAS, but the one with ALIAS fail with error like the following:
C1X0511I COPY O=OTDD1,I=INDD1
C1X0511I SELECT MEMBER=((CIMSCMFP,CIMSCMFP,R))
C1X0511I INDD1 = FLDXCBN.TDSUAM.LOADMODS
C1X0511I OTDD1 = FNNDVRN.PROD.RESCUE.SCIMS.LOADMODS
C1X0506E ROOT MODULE DRLCCMFP NOT SELECTED WITH ALIAS CIMSCMFP

Any ideas?

This can be either adapted from a more "conventional" CM plan or written entirely from scratch. This question may be answered somewhere else in the Agile Forum and, if so, I would appreciate anyone sending me where such a plan may be found.

I do a lot of estimations for projects involving configuration management and data management. One of the requirements these days is that you make estimates based on historical actuals or metrics derived from same.

Unfortunately, I have yet to find a highly correlatable metric that will definitively provide an estimate that will result in a fairly accurate bid (when compared to the conclusion of execution). I recognize that such things are highly variable, and a lot of items can impact getting a good metric.

I would be interested in knowing if anyone out there has a metric that can be shared in this public forum that has a high degree of correlation to actual hours experienced. Some of the metrics I've seen are:

% of software design/code/integration hours (% of DCI)
hours/month
hours/release
hours/change request
% of Lines of Code

none of which - to my satisfaction - yeild a definitive answer.

We are using CM Synergy 7.1 Unix/Windows version and i want to automate the deployment process which right now we do mannualy. Here is my requirement.

1. Get all the objects for the all the tasks which is made as tested state.
2. Generate the tar file file for objects of tested task.
3. Untar the tar file
4. Execute the scripts.

Could you please help me out on my views:
Shall I put all the task in a particular folder of CM Synergy? Then, how to create tar file of these objects of folder in Unix env?

Is SCM process complexity and associated management systems sophistication is DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL to level of traceability granularity and formality required in your organization or project???
