Meister – Going Beyond Maven

Meister and Maven each share a common goal of improving the build process. Both can benefit Java build teams, but Meister goes beyond Maven by providing bi-directional integration with Eclipse, automated build script management, detailed dependency analysis, all delivered in a scalable workflow architecture. Meister also provides detailed build audits and dependency reports, including discovered dependencies and origin (SCM or file system) reporting. Through standardized Build Methods, Meister enables consistent builds across multiple platforms and languages, and scales naturally to very large enterprise build and development environments. This paper helps technical decision makers understand both tools and shows that Meister better suited for large enterprise environments.
