With ClearReplica you can "replicate" not only the whole VOB, but just a portion of it if you desire. Replicate to the same region if needed (or even the same VOB). Combine or split "replicated" VOBs at the destination or receiving location. with ClearReplica relaxed mastership, you can let developers from multiple locations work on the same branch at the same time. 9.0 adds additional "Peer-to-Peer" encryption to ClearReplica. All ClearReplica data has always been encrypted using an internal ClearReplica Data Encryption key so that only ClearReplica can decrypt ClearReplica data packets (perfect for closed or otherwise private networks), but as of 9.0, additional encryption can be enabled that requires the sender and receiver to agree on a generated encryption key known only to the Sender and Receiver, thus allowing for the secure transportation of packets across open, public or 3rd party networks or even though the use of 3rd party courier services. Even those with ClearReplica cannot decrypt the packet without the "Peer-to-Peer" encryption key. <![CDATA[ThoughtWorks Studios announces Go 2.1]]>

The Crossroads - http://www.cmcrossroads.com - Recently, ThoughtWorks Studios announced Go 2.1, the latest release of their Agile Release Management tool. In this episode of The Crossroads, Patrick Egan, Publisher of the CM Journal, talked with Jez Humble, Build and Release Principal for ThoughtWorks Studios about continuous integration trends and how Go 2.1 helps developers deal with the "last mile". The "last mile" is the step from dev complete to release. And Go 2.1 automates all the steps for an application to go into production. It makes the process completely transparent and allows teams to see what version of each application is in use in each environment, audit back to the source and perform one-click deployments of new versions of software. Also, Go detects which tests broke, which test broke them, and who was responsible, even when run across a grid. Jez tells us what's new in this version, why you'd choose Go over an open source CI tool, and chats about what's next for ThoughtWorks. See more videos like this one at http://www.cmcrossroads.com

<![CDATA[AnovaStorm Secures Initial Funding to Optimize Web Deployments]]>

As business requirements demand greater release frequency to stay competitive and take advantage of market opportunities, the bottleneck in many enterprises has now moved to the application deployment phase. So, with a team of former BuildForge executives, AnovaStorm recently received two million dollars in initial funding to provide a solution to this problem. In this episode of The Crossroads, Patrick Egan, Publisher of the CM Journal, talked with Derek Hutson, Chief Executive Officer of AnovaStorm about this new endeavor. AnovaStorm combines built-in application server intelligence with a flexible deployment process framework that enables enterprises to automate, standardize and track their deployment activities, thereby reducing cost, improving staff utilization, and easing compliance requirements. So, how is AnovaStorm different from other web deployment solutions? Derek says that AnovaStorm takes a more holistic approach and provides intelligent web deployment automation software that brings predictability, efficiency and auditability to your mission critical web applications.

<![CDATA[AgileTalk: Agile and ALM Together]]>

An Agile Business Video http://www.agilejournal.com - One of the hottest topics in software development today is the focus on combining agile and ALM. Two terms that were once thought to be at odds. ALM, or Application Lifecycle Management, traditionally focused on heavy processes and waterfall development while agile methods strove to rid the developers of the chains brought on by rigid process. Todd Olson, Director of Product Marketing for Rally Software, joins Agile Journal publisher, Patrick Egan, in this episode of Agile Talk. Patrick and Todd chat about agile ALM and what's behind the market push to support this new combination. Todd believes that the deep integration and adaptability of the Rally platform gives developers a seemless adoption of new capabilities while still preserving investment in legacy systems. They go on to discuss the new features of the recent release of Rally's agile ALM tool as well as the future of this exciting integration. <![CDATA[Bridging the DevOps Gap with StreamStep]]>

The Crossroads - http://www.cmcrossroads.com - In this episode of The Crossroads, Patrick Egan, Publisher of the CM Journal talked with Clyde Logue, VP of Product Marketing at StreamStep about agile development, StreamStep and DevOps. During this interview, Clyde talked about the new movement in software development called DevOps. A similar concept to agile, it focuses on a greater level of collaboration between development and operations teams. With lightweight planning of release schedules, coordination of complex deployment processes, and a high level of automation, companies can bridge the "DevOps gap" and get their code in the hands of customers faster. The StreamStep solution gets everyone involved in real-time automation, coordination and planning where they can see what's being done and how it's going using a collaborative toolset. This improves speed to resolution for problems and drives higher release success rates. All this translates directly into a high ROI and happy management. Clyde says that by bridging the DevOps gap, your organization can adapt to changes faster, all without losing control over the big picture. <![CDATA[VersionOne includes enhanced roadmapping facilities to align product delivery and strategy]]> Patrick Egan, Publisher of the Agile Journal http://agileJournal.com talked with Robert Holler, CEO of VersionOne about their Summer Release which features enhanced product roadmapping, project workspaces and a new Salesforce.com integration, CaseConnect. You can view this video to hear the entire interview. During this interview, Robert talked about how excited he and his organization are about Agile 2010 and the trends that they have seen in the industry this year including the strategic adoption of agile within organizations. Robert discussed that VersionOne's latest product features were developed based on these trends and customer feedback. In particular, this year, some of their product enhancements include enhanced roadmapping facilities to align delivery and strategy, a project workspace so that teams can adapt the system to their own particular needs but still allow rollup and reporting capabilities across the organization, an integration with Salesforce and enhanced customer reporting and analytics. Patrick then asked Robert to expand on what is unique about this summer's release. Robert went on to explain that they have seen the full life cycle of strategic planning move into the ALM arena and VersionOne further aligned their offering with these changes. Now, with VersionOne's enhanced drag and drop facilities, users are able to lay out visually where the enterprise is going to be next month, next quarter or even the next few years. These new capabilities allow users to adopt agile throughout the enterprise by allowing teams to control their own processes, workflows, etc. and manage this at their level without losing the visibility of all projects across the enterprise. Robert explained that they have targeted their offerings to replace non integrated tools with a nice visually integrated environment that ties the entire life cycle together from conception to delivery. Patrick then drilled into how VersionOne's products could be used outside of the development organization? Robert explains VersionOne that their "ultimate edition" in particular extends agile outside the development team and provides reporting, feedback and collaboration with different teams, executives and customers. Finally Patrick asked what's on the horizon for VersionOne? VersionOne has extended their products out even further into the community through their partnerships with Agile Journal as well as their own open community platform with the best agile content available. They are also delivering agile events (Agile Palooza), tool conferences (Agile in Action) and a webinars series called Agile Live, all to help users navigate the complex agile waters today. Robert also spoke about their newest offering, Agile Sherpa which was launched at the Agile 2010 show. This is a guide to the best agile practices and methods, as well as a self-service platform for a training and event calendar and the latest agile news. You'll be able to hear all this and more from Robert Holler in this video podcast.]]> Wed, 01 Sep 2010 19:13:52 GMT http://www.cmcrossroads.com/video-spotlight/viewvideo/317/video-spotlight/versionone-includes-enhanced-roadmapping-facilities-to-align-product-delivery-and-strategy <![CDATA[Taking a hybrid approach to agile development]]>
