Release management is often that part of the software development lifecycle which has the entire team chewing its nails. Use Cruise, the Continuous Integration and Release Management system from ThoughtWorks, to remove the suspense and unpleasant surprises associated with software deployment. Model your release workflow and ensure a hassle-free software deployment with revolutionary Pipelines. Get control of your release process by managing it through Cruise. Save time by parallelizing your tests and testing on multiple platforms. Release software quickly and repeatably with new and tested features. Cruise draws from the extensive continuous integration experience of ThoughtWorks, the creators of the original CruiseControl.
PRODUCT FEATURES Pipelines: Model your Release Workflow with revolutionary Pipelines. A pipeline configuration is like a workflow; use it to define the stages a set of modifications must pass through, such as a “commit” stage and functional and performance test stages. Parallelization: Simply split your long running test suite into multiple suites and create jobs for each one. Cruise will run all builds within a given stage in parallel given enough agents, so you can leverage its zero configuration build grid to substantially reduce the time it takes to run tests.
Cruise has a built in repository for storing and sharing binaries, test logs and other artifacts created by builds. Just tell Cruise which artifacts you want to store and Cruise will automatically upload them from the build agent at the end of the build. It is simple to access artifacts RESTfully from your build scripts, so that you can re-use an artifact from one stage or pipeline in another. The API allows you to specify a particular build number, or fetch the artifacts from the last good build. LDAP and Active Directory integration: See which build is in which environment, and promote builds on demand to the environment where they are needed at the click of a button. Cruise integrates with LDAP and Active Directory, so you can see who promoted each build, allowing you to audit every change to your environments. BENEFITS
Release management is often that part of the software development lifecycle which has the entire team chewing its nails. Releasing software need not be a painful, expensive and error-prone process. Get control of your release process by managing it through Cruise.
Save time by parallelizing tests and letting Cruise manage your testing environment. You can specify as many jobs as you like within a stage, and given enough Cruise Agents, have them all run simultaneously. Result? Your multi-platform long running testing can be done in a snap.
Simply tell Cruise what your projects depend on, and your pipeline will get triggered automatically when an upstream project builds successfully. Cruise has a built in repository for storing and sharing binaries, test logs and other artifacts created by builds. Indicate to Cruise the artifacts you want to store and Cruise will automatically upload them from the build agent at the end of the build. Establish good development practices by sharing artifacts between stages and pipelines.
With Cruise, each integration is verified by an automated build (including test) to detect integration errors as quickly as possible. This approach leads to significantly reduced integration problems and allows a team to develop cohesive software more rapidly. See the live console output from every agent on the grid with a single click: a ready-made information radiator updated every five seconds.
