AnovaStormRecently, ThoughtWorks Studios announced Go 2.1, the latest release of their Agile Release Management tool.  In this episode of The Crossroads, Patrick Egan, Publisher of the CM Journal, talked with Jez Humble, Build and Release Principal for ThoughtWorks Studios about continuous integration trends and how Go 2.1 helps developers deal with the "last mile".

The "last mile" of software development is the step from dev complete to release.  And Go 2.1 automates all the steps for an application to go into production.  It makes the process completely transparent and allows teams to see what version of each application is in use in each environment, audit back to the source and perform one-click deployments of new versions of software. Also, Go detects which tests broke, which test broke them, and who was responsible, even when run across a grid.  Jez tells us what's new in this version, why you'd choose Go over an open source CI tool, and chats about what's next for ThoughtWorks.
