| Mountain View, CA, November 7th 2007 Build Engineers are about to get some greatly improved tools to help deal with the complexity and huge workload that often characterizes today's large software development efforts. Electric Cloud, a 4 year old Mountain View based solutions vendor has announced that starting with it's December 2007 release of Electric Commander 2.1, customers will have new capabilities to leverage the power and versatility of virtualization using VMware's Lab Manager solution. This means that low cost servers can be harnessed together to provide never seen before speed and flexibility to tame even the largest and most complex production builds. Developers will also have new capabilities (e.g. preflight builds) to borrow the virtualized production build environment to test their own builds before turning their code over for an official release. Mike Maciag, CEO of Electric Cloud proudly told CM Crossroads that customer satisfaction is a core value of their firm which has over 70 active customers in 150 locations worldwide - most importantly all of them are using the products which they purchased from Electric Cloud. Many of these customers converted up from using Continuous Integration solutions such as Cruise Control and are building large scale Java, C and C++ enterprise applications. Electric Cloud is one of the few firms which really focuses on the all important back end of the development process - build and deploy. Being able to use (VMware) virtualization in building large scale applications is a huge advance in the application development arena and opens the door for unprecedented productivity and quality improvements.
