AmberPoint Solution Noted for Broad and Deep Visibility, Strong
Policy Management Architecture and Leading Market Presence
OAKLAND, Calif.--AmberPoint is pleased to announce that it has been named a “Leader”
among SOA and Web services management vendors in a recent Forrester
Research report, "Forrester Wave: Standalone SOA and Web Services
Management Solutions, Q4 2007, Forrester Research, Inc. October 22, 2007.”
The report highlights AmberPoint’s strong
market presence, including the company’s deep
OEM presence and product integrations with partners. An accompanying
report by Forrester Research singles out AmberPoint as “an
especially good fit for buyers that need to quickly implement
comprehensive SOA management” and “have
complex policy requirements.” (AmberPoint’s
Market Presence Leads the Standalone SOA Management Market. Forrester
Research, Inc. October 22, 2007.)
AmberPoint was selected as a leader for having “the
greatest breadth and depth across all three major current offering
sections:” Core SOA Management; Extended SOA
Management, including security, policy management, and production
governance; and Additional SOA Features, including business activity
monitoring, support for advanced Web services specifications and message
transformation.
"AmberPoint also scores consistently well across almost all of our
criteria. AmberPoint has the most mature architecture for policy
management, especially in its extensibility of policy specification and
its ability to deploy policy to other vendor products. Although it is a
smaller pure-play vendor, this is offset by AmberPoint’s
market-leading position in terms of reseller and OEM arrangements, which
gives it a broad range of channels to market. Its policy management is
strong enough that TIBCO embeds AmberPoint’s
policy management engine in its strategic ActiveMatrix product line. BEA
Systems rebrands and resells AmberPoint as part of its AquaLogic product
line. SAP has made an equity investment in AmberPoint. Other AmberPoint
strengths include its visibility into a variety of SOA software
infrastructure types, such as ESBs and SOA appliances, and its business
activity monitoring.”
AmberPoint was also referenced several times in a supplement to the
Forrester Wave Report entitled “Embedded SOA
Management Solutions, Forrester Research, Inc. October 22, 2007.”
The supplemental report pointed to AmberPoint’s
deep alliances in the industry, including the reselling of AmberPoint
SOA Management System by BEA Systems, Microsoft’s
partnership with AmberPoint, SAP’s equity
investment in AmberPoint, and the embedding of AmberPoint’s
policy management engine by TIBCO Software.
“We’re pleased to
be named a leader by Forrester,” said Ed
Horst, vice president of marketing at AmberPoint. “It’s
especially satisfying to see our market presence results standout in a
field that includes some companies that are much larger than ourselves.
Our strong market traction has resulted from not only the advantages of
our product set but also from our company strategy to work closely with
other leaders in the SOA space to ensure comprehensive, closed-loop
governance.”
In other news, AmberPoint also announced today that it has grown its
industry-leading market presence significantly in recent months (see “AmberPoint
Grows Market Traction with Addition of New Customers from Direct and
Partner-Driven Sales”).
