Solution Provider Session to Focus on Achieving Rapid, Widespread Adoption of CMMI with ALM
ORLANDO, FLORIDA-- MKS Inc. (MKS) (TSX:MKX) will be joined by Lockheed Martin's (NYSE:LMT) Enterprise Solutions and Services unit to present the way that a global organization rapidly achieves large scale adoption of CMMI across new and existing programs.
CMMI® (Capability Maturity Model® Integration) is recognized as the standard for independent benchmarking of industry maturity in critical technical and managerial areas. CMMI is very powerful yet is notoriously difficult to implement, especially quickly and on a large-scale basis.
During this co-presented session to conference attendees, Tuesday,
October 9th at 4:45 PM in Room Oceanic 6 at the Dolphin Hotel, Dr.
Jeffrey Phillips, Chief Technologist, Health Information Technology
Solutions and Mr. Kyle Willers, Manager, Application Development and
Maintenance Solutions, Lockheed Martin Enterprise Solutions and
Services, along with Dan Boutin, Strategic Solutions Manager, MKS, will
discuss the role of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) as a vital
accelerator for Lockheed Martin Information Solutions and Services
automating and streamlining each stage of CMMI maturity.
"Lockheed Martin has proven Level 5 processes and artifacts,"
states Dr. Phillips. "Our goal is to rapidly and consistently implement
Level 3 processes and artifacts across many diverse programs while also
taking early advantage of Level 5 functionality by embedding our
processes within a proven automated ALM platform. Embedding Lockheed
Martin's CMMI processes and best practices within an ALM platform,
enables the consistent monitoring of work performance during all stages
of the development lifecycle. This is critical to achieving CMMI Level
5 maturity benefits such as reducing code defects and product
development and maintenance cost and increasing code re-use and product
quality."
"A unified ALM platform is a proven accelerator for maturity
initiatives like CMMI through automation of processes, end to end
traceability and visibility, and real-time data mining of lifecycle
metrics of key process indicators (KPI)" comments Philip C. Deck,
Chairman and CEO, MKS. "We're delighted to present our shared vision
for accelerated CMMI with Lockheed Martin."
Attendees of Gartner Symposium/ITxpo, which runs from October 7 -
12 at the Walt Disney World Dolphin in Orlando, FL, are also invited to
stop by the MKS booth (#1425) to learn how its enterprise Application
Lifecycle Management (ALM) solution provides Global 1000 organizations
with greater visibility over geographically distributed software
development activities, enhanced development productivity and improved
IT controls for regulatory compliance across zSeries, iSeries and
distributed platforms. See what makes MKS Integrity 2007 stand out.
