SAN
FRANCISCO - Salesforce.com Dreamforce Conference - Rally Software
Development Corp.®, the leading provider of Agile software life cycle
management solutions, today announced that it is working with
salesforce.com to simplify software lifecycle management through a
suite of new agility products built on the Force.com platform. Rally
Support Connector, Rally Community ManagerTM and Rally Product Manager
seamlessly integrate the worlds of application lifecycle management
(ALM) and customer relationship management (CRM) to extend agility
beyond development teams. The announcement was made today at Dreamforce
'07, salesforce.com's User and Developer Conference.
Rally's award-winning Agile life cycle management solutions have
been used to support its customers in over 6,500 Agile product
releases. Rally Support Connector, Rally Community Manager and Rally
Product Manager integrate Salesforce CRM applications with Rally's
software life cycle management solutions to bring transparency into
development status, drive development priorities based on customer
value and speed time to market.
"Salesforce.com's AppExchange is enjoying increasing success, and
more and more vertical solutions are available to help Salesforce users
extend the success of their CRM deployments," said George Hu, Chief
Marketing Officer at salesforce.com. "Rally Software is helping to
define the high-tech vertical by driving greater innovation,
collaboration and customer responsiveness with their broad portfolio of
AppExchange applications."
Rally's Agility Suite for the Force.com platform includes:
. Rally Support Connector improves customer responsiveness by
letting support staff communicate the development status of
customer-reported defects and feature requests from within Salesforce.
It also gives development teams working in Rally greater visibility
into the details of customer defects and requests, and notifies
customers when their defects and feature requests are addressed in a
new release.
. Rally Community Manager is a suite of Web 2.0
services for publishing and collaboration that have been tailored for
customer support, feature collaboration and community building. With
Rally Community Manager, companies can build customer, partner and
employee portals around their shared knowledge and use that information
to drive new feature priorities based on community rankings.
.
Rally Product Manager enables product managers and business analysts to
easily plan and release a continuous flow of products and services
based on customer input taken directly from Salesforce. Product
managers and business analysts can easily create feature roadmaps
driven directly from customer requests and competitive win/loss
reports, and release managers can synchronize their global workforces
around critical product launch milestones, tasks and deliverables.
"Emerging Web 2.0 concepts like mashups and social networking are
creating incredibly high expectations for technology companies to
deliver the customer's most valued features as quickly as possible,"
said Ryan Martens, Rally founder and Chief Technology Officer.
"Together, Rally and salesforce.com combine the best practices of
on-demand applications and Agile development principles to help
high-tech product companies and IT organizations quickly meet customer
needs and respond to market feedback."
"It's critical to Authoria's success that we can seamlessly
facilitate a smooth flow of accurate, real-time information about how
our internal resources map to our customers' priorities," said Mike
Galyen, director of product management at Authoria. "As an early
adopter of Rally's new features and integrations, we're excited to
extend our use of Rally's software life cycle management solutions by
integrating with CRM from salesforce.com. Rally is helping us realize
our vision of a single source of truth that closes the gap between
customer needs and product capabilities."
