"The heart of SOA is the re-use of business components, something
Software AG has always embraced as core to its vision of how to manage
IT assets and business processes," said Jeremy Geelan, Senior Vice
President, Editorial & Events, SYS-CON Media. "Our readers are concerned
with leveraging existing investments, and when they select technologies
and vendors in this way it is strictly because of the business benefits
and the ROI involved. They clearly applaud the webMethods product suite,
and open standards, as do all involved in the Readers' Choice Awards. We
offer Software AG hearty congratulations on its well-deserved results."
webMethods an eWeek Excellence Award Finalist, SD Times honoree
Earlier this year, the editors of eWeek, a Ziff Davis Media publication
and one of the IT industry’s leading
enterprise magazines, recognized webMethods’
flagship product suite as a finalist in the publication’s
Seventh Annual eWeek Excellence Awards. webMethods was recognized in the “Business
Integration Systems” category.
According to the eWeek editors involved in the judging, “[t]raditionally,
when one thinks of webMethods' integration tools, high levels of
complexity are what immediately jump to mind. But with Fabric 7,
webMethods makes it much easier for business analysts to create and
manage business processes and integrations using simple drag-and-drop
development tools. We also liked how Fabric 7 embraces the cutting edge
of Web and integration technologies, including support for key Semantic
Web standards such as RDF and OWL.”
The company was also honored by the editors of SD Times as they named
webMethods to the Fifth Annual SD Times 100 for 2007. This list
recognizes the one hundred most influential individuals and
organizations in software development. According to the editors, the
company “…took SOA
and turned it into a tangible, actionable system for enterprise
integration. Likewise, it ran at the head of the pack in the BPMS space.”
