NEW YORK, NY —June 19, 2007—Large IT departments could see a major headache consigned to the past with the news today that Tideway Systems, the independent leader in IT service configuration management for enterprises, has released a new certified configurable adapter for BMC Software’s BMC® Atrium Configuration Management Database (CMDB). As well as reducing costs and improving productivity, organizations using the Tideway Foundation™ adapter for BMC Atrium CMDB effectively reduce the risk of having their CMDB out of date and improve the accuracy of its data.
The Tideway Foundation adapter for BMC Atrium CMDB allows the widely deployed Foundation 6.2 automated application dependency mapping system to auto-populate, update, and maintain the BMC Atrium CMDB with configuration information on networks, servers, software products and business applications, as well as the dependencies between them. In practice this means that any organization running Tideway Foundation along with the BMC Atrium CMDB can benefit from a complete, automatically updated view of all its IT assets, simplifying management and streamlining traditionally time-consuming and risky processes such as upgrades and changes. At global law firm Linklaters, the process of deploying their first CMDB using BMC Atrium CMDB has just begun, with the project’s initial focus being on better disaster recovery and change management. Linklaters uses Tideway Foundation to discover and baseline their IT infrastructure estate.
