There
is frequently debate over whether having agile development means less
Configuration Management or lighter CM. In some cases the debate leads
to more heated discussion over whether agile development in in
contradiction to sound CM practices. It is because of this debate that
over the past 3 years we have devoted an issue each year to this topic.
It was also because of this rapidly growing interest in the subject of
Agile development for Business over the past few years that we launched
the Agile Journal last year. You'll want to visit the Agile Journal site at www.agilejournal.com for more in-depth discussions on Agile Business. In this months edition of the Configuration Management Journal we are again led by Brad Appleton, Robert Cowham and Steve Berczuk in "Defining Agile SCM"a discussion about the past, present an future of agile in relation to configuration management. In CM: the Next Generation, Joe Farah shares his views on the Next Generation of Agile CM. And also keeping to the theme this month we have a light hearted conversation with a Paranoid Schizophrenic as Ben Weatherall responds to the Demands of Agile Development and John Scumniotales tells us how to Set the Tempo for Agile Development. I hope you enjoy this edition of the Configuration Management Journal and as always, I look forward to your comments and suggestions. Feel free to post your comments in the forums at cmcrossroads.com or send your letters to the editor to me directly.
