Aldon Assessment Report Program Preserves Application Customizations and Streamlines Processes

EMERYVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aldon, the leading provider of process-driven application change management, today announced the Aldon Assessment Report Program, available at no cost to Oracle’s JD Edwards World customers. The powerful reporting tool simplifies software upgrades for new releases of Oracle’s JD Edwards World software, while preserving business-critical customizations from previous versions. JD Edwards users will be able to perform software upgrades faster, easier and more accurately, and ultimately accelerate business application development.

JD Edwards World is known for its flexible platform that makes application customization easier, which has been a major factor in its successful market penetration. For software upgrades, transferring application enhancements to a new version can be difficult and the Aldon Assessment Report Program delivers a clear view into the entire process of a software upgrade. The Aldon Assessment Report Program provides JD Edwards programmers with a complete history of modifications, compares them against the original unmodified release, and maps the changes so they can be easily applied to the new release. In addition, by providing all the details and location of the changes between the various versions involved, the report program allows the upgrade process to be planned and implemented on a more predictable schedule with improved resource allocation.

"Aldon brings significant value to the software upgrade and application development process - with solutions that simplify complexity and increase productivity for both business and IT," said Matt Scholl, chief operating officer, Aldon. "In today's fast moving market, you have to make technology work for you at every turn of the road to stay competitive. Our goal is to deliver technology that puts you miles ahead."

The Aldon Assessment Report Program is available at no cost to JD Edwards World customers on maintenance and is expected to be available this quarter.

The Aldon Assessment Report Program stems from the award-winning Aldon Harmonizer product line, the most complete compare and merge tool that is in use at thousands of sites worldwide. Aldon Harmonizer compares the current releases with new releases, and then also merges the versions to create the whole new set of source and objects. Other features include support for parallel development, in which Harmonizer identifies and merges the work of two or more programmers who have modified the same program simultaneously. Aldon Harmonizer also performs automatic document code changes whenever a modified program is moved into production, which helps shorten development cycle while at the same creates an audit trail to fulfill compliance requirements.
