mValent Designated Premier Partner For Integration With Mercury Universal CMDB

BURLINGTON, Mass., Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- mValent, Inc. http://www.mvalent.com, a leading provider of automated IT configuration management solutions for managing application infrastructure, today announced it has become a Premier Alliance Partner in the Mercury Alliance Program in the category of application release and configuration management for integration with Mercury Universal CMDB(TM). Through an intensive qualification process, Mercury verified mValent Integrity's integration of its automated configuration management software with Mercury Universal CMDB, Mercury's configuration management database. The joint integration is being demonstrated by mValent at Mercury World 2006 in Las Vegas this week at mValent's booth #427 and in the Mercury Solution Center.

Through this validated integration, mValent Integrity leverages and enriches the discovered asset and service dependencies in Mercury Universal CMDB with highly detailed asset configuration settings, detailed change tracking and tools for comprehensive change provisioning to applications in any stage of their lifecycle, providing customers with rich capabilities to automate application support processes. Users can drill-down seamlessly from asset maps in the Mercury Universal CMDB to mValent Integrity to view recent configuration changes and use mValent Integrity's industry-leading "Compare" tool for thorough analysis of how fine-grained configuration settings have diverged from accepted standards -- thus significantly streamlining the problem resolution process.

Configuration problems can then be quickly resolved through mValent Integrity by automatically rolling back to earlier "known-good" versions, or provisioning changes to bring all asset configurations into compliance with corporate standards. mValent Integrity will also enable Mercury Universal CMDB users to begin automating their release management processes so IT teams can build new application environments efficiently, provision configuration changes completely and validate that changes are made correctly.

"We are pleased to be accepted as a Premier Mercury Alliance Partner for application release and configuration management and look forward to working with Mercury to maximize customer success for Mercury Universal CMDB implementations," said Swapnil Shah, Founder & Chief Strategy Officer with mValent. "By integrating with Mercury Universal CMDB, mValent Integrity provides a rich application for enterprise IT teams to automate their support processes for critical business applications."

"We believe this new product integration with mValent will help accelerate our customers' ability to mitigate risk and optimize the business outcomes of IT," said Steve Gross, Vice President, Corporate Business Development at Mercury. "Many of our customers are taking a business service-centric approach to implementing a CMDB in order to get quick time-to-value for their change and release management initiatives and integrations like this will help automate this process."

mValent Integrity helps IT teams understand and manage infrastructure configurations and automate changes through reliable, repeatable and auditable processes. IT teams use mValent Integrity to capture the current state of configuration settings for IT assets, monitor them for authorized and unauthorized changes, and automate processes for provisioning changes and setting up new environments throughout the application lifecycle -- from development, testing and through production. mValent Integrity delivers the following benefits to IT:

  • Improved IT productivity through change and release process automation
  • Accelerated time-to-value for new applications
  • Automated IT audit and compliance
  • Improved application uptime/quality

Mercury Universal CMDB provides advanced discovery capabilities to capture, document and store end-to-end service dependencies and associated infrastructure that support business services. Mercury Universal CMDB also delivers federated data integration and reconciliation to leverage investments in traditional asset management or service desk-centric CMDBs. Mercury Universal CMDB's visualization and mapping capabilities provide the ability to view business service infrastructure in a logical and intuitive manner. Based on Mercury Application Mapping(TM) technology, Mercury Universal CMDB's automated, up-to-date synchronized information is core to enabling service management initiatives.
