DynamSoft SourceAnyWhere 5.0 Accelerates Secure, High Performance Remote Access For VSS Users

SourceAnyWhere for VSS enables SourceSafe users to develop remotely without the typical challenges around security, stability and speed.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (September 6, 2006) - DynamSoft Corporation today announced the release of SourceAnyWhere 5.0, a remote access add-on tool for Microsoft® Visual SourceSafe (VSS). The newest addition to the DynamSoft product suite enables software developers to access VSS easily over the Internet through a standard TCP/IP connection with much higher performance and advanced security.

Businesses with software developers working remotely are searching for ways to increase performance and improve productivity. Most developers are plagued with slow remote code access as well as security vulnerabilities due to remote sharing of entire database folders when using VSS alone. In contrast, SourceAnyWhere 5.0 uses Delta transfer technology to dramatically increase VSS access speeds. Additionally, the software’s ability to limit access to a file level increases security and helps prevent code over-writes. SourceAnyWhere provides an alternative to exposing valuable data by removing the threat of damage or unauthorized access to transferred data. Other features, such as 128-bit SSL and Blowfish encryption and password policy also serve to enhance software security.

In addition to the GUI client for SourceAnyWhere, the new version offers the flexibility of IDE (Integrated Development Environment) clients suitable for use in a wide range of development environments including Visual Studio, Visual Studio .NET, Macromedia Studio, Eclipse, as well as Borland Delphi 8.0 IDE, IBM Rational Rapid Developer 2003 IDE and any MSSCCI (Microsoft Source Code Control Interface) compatible IDE. Enhanced features such as the cache server are designed to reduce the bandwidth strain on the central code repository. By caching previously requested files, the cache server significantly reduces the number of files to be transferred over the Internet and improves remote access performance.
