AccuRev CTO Damon Poole to Speak at Agile 2008 Conference
Lexington, MA-AccuRev Inc. has announced that its chief technology officer, Damon Poole, will present three sessions on Agile software development at the Agile 2008 Conference. The conference runs from August 4 – 8 at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel in Toronto, Ontario.
In his first session, “See Large Scale Multi-stage Continuous
Integration in Real Time,” Mr. Poole will discuss the practice of
multi-stage continuous integration and demonstrate how even
geographically distributed teams can improve the orchestration of this
Agile build management process. Attendees will learn an effective way
to virtually eliminate downtime associated with mainline broken builds.

For those skeptical of Agile, Mr. Poole will facilitate his second session, “Calling All Agile Skeptics, the Curious, and Die-Hard non-Agile.” This open forum will provide non-Agilist attendees with an opportunity to raise objections, doubts or horror stories. Experienced Agilists will also be able to share both positives and negative experiences, as well as respond helpfully to skeptics’ questions. View

In his final session, “Questioning the Perception of Agile,” Mr. Poole will facilitate discussion around the commonly held misperceptions and misconceptions of Agile. Attendees will help with suggestions for enhancing the Agile message to minimize this issue and help stop the continued propagation of misinformation. View
