Seapine Software Rolls Out Latest Version of Automated Software Testing Solution

Seapine’s QA Wizard Pro 2010 improves productivity and product quality through additional control support and enhanced Web application testing

Cincinnati, OH – November 16, 2009 – Seapine Software, a leading global provider of quality-centric application lifecycle management (ALM) solutions, today announced the release of QA Wizard Pro 2010, the latest version of its automated functional and regression testing solution. This version includes support for additional third-party controls, advanced features to redefine custom controls, the ability to perform dynamic SQL queries, and other time-saving testing tasks to improve productivity and help teams deliver quality products.

“In QA Wizard Pro 2010, we focused on the ability to test non-standard Windows controls, including custom controls, and enhanced our Web application testing capabilities,” says Rick Riccetti, president and CEO, Seapine.  “For example, we’ve expanded the range of third-party controls that can be tested to include the TinyMCE WYSIWYG editor, as well as various controls produced by ComponentOne, DevExpress, and Janus Systems. And, we’ve introduced features that greatly improve QA Wizard Pro’s ability to manipulate previously unrecognizable custom Windows controls. These features will minimize the amount of undesirable low-level actions automated testing tools traditionally resort to when they do not recognize a Windows control.”

To improve the testing of Web applications, QA Wizard Pro includes new features to identify and specify windows in a multi-browser window application, and new statements to better interact with browser tabs. Other improvements include the ability to capture Microsoft Active Accessibility (MSAA) control properties to better identify and work with non-standard controls that adhere to MSAA standards, and the ability to execute dynamic SQL queries during runtime to make data-driven scripts more powerful.

QA Wizard Pro 2010 is available immediately for evaluation at Seapine Software’s Web site and is a free upgrade for customers with current QA Wizard Pro maintenance agreements.
