Position Summary

We currently have an opening for a Configuration Manager to join our ground systems development team.  Based out of our Longmont, CO headquarters, this role will work closely with Information Services, Operations, Application Development, Project Management, and Quality Assurance to establish an enterprise level Change and Configuration Management infrastructure and process.  Responsibilities include defining, executing, and enforcing standards and procedures to establish and evangelize Change and Configuration Management methods/ procedures across all relevant groups within the corporation.

Major Accountabilities

  • Establish and lead an enterprise wide Configuration Management process, which includes software management, hardware configurations, document control, and asset management.
  • Identify tools and procedures to monitor the runtime environments to identify any changes introduced to the system either planned or unplanned.
  • Ensure that all infrastructure components are consistent with respect to one another (i.e., a complete release) and are executable (i.e., no compilation errors) across platforms and environments.
  • Develop change and Configuration Management procedures and processes for operations in a non-secure and a secure environment.
  • Develops procedures to ensure that each build, as well as earlier environments, may be recreated, when necessary.
  • Ensure all Change Management, Configuration Management and Problem Management are properly integrated and tested.
  • Act as the Process Owner of Change and Configuration Management.
  • Develop, maintain and report against a roadmap of process improvement and current status for Change and Configuration Management Provide regular training on all implemented Change and Configuration Management processes.
  • Develop strong stakeholder relationships within the IS, Software Development groups, and operations and maintain effective communication channels.  Secure effective cooperation with all teams.
  • Work proactively with outsourced partner’s teams to identify, quantify and establish good Configuration Management practices. Develop a process to integrate deliverables from outsourced vendors into internal Configuration Management processes.

Job Requirements

  • US Citizen, able to acquire security clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a secure environment, which includes establishing Change and Configuration Management infrastructures, procedures and processes within the secure environment.
  • Bachelor's degree (BS, BA) in Computer Science, mathematics, statistics, engineering or related discipline.
  • Five to ten years of broad, in-depth IT experience.
  • In depth experience with Change and Configuration Management.
  • Experience in developing and supporting a wide range of application systems and system administration tasks.
  • Successfully developed and implemented new technology and work processes.
  • 3-5 years experience in working with cross functional teams and leading complex, multi-faceted projects.
  • Knowledge of IT operations process and technology (i.e. Windows, UNIX, Storage, DBA, networking and application support.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups and collaborate with all levels of management and IT staff; ability to motivate employees/teams to apply skills and techniques to solve dynamic problems; excellent teamwork skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills including communicating complex and technical information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Ability to weigh various suggested technical solutions against the original business needs and choose the most cost-effective solutions.
  • Process driven with a strong knowledge of infrastructure systems and support environments.
  • Ability to deliver high quality products, on time in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to assist in the development of training materials for said product.
  • Ability to direct process improvement efforts and processes.
  • Ability to work autonomously with very limited supervision.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
  • Ability to ensure documentation is developed and maintained for operational processes and procedures.
