ALPHARETTA, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cambia Security Inc., a leading provider of security policy enforcement software, today announced that Cambia CM is integrated with the IBM Tivoli® Change and Configuration Management Database (CCMDB) and has received the Ready for IBM Tivoli Software technical validation. The technical validation is an indicator to customers that Cambia CMTM met or exceeded IBM compatibility criteria as a successful integration with CCMDB. The combination of Cambia CM and CCMDB enables enterprises to continuously gather detailed configuration items from assets and analyze them for compliance with applicable security and regulatory policies.

Effective IT service management requires a comprehensive federated configuration management database (CMDB). The IBM Tivoli CCMDB provides an enterprise-ready configuration management database and platform upon which enterprises can standardize and share information that helps integrate people, processes, information and technology. Through integration with the IBM Tivoli CCMDB, Cambia CM continuously scans assets on an enterprise network, analyzes changes to them for security risk or compliance deviation, and then seamlessly populates the CCMDB with security and compliance configuration items.

From the IBM Tivoli CCMDB console, administrators can view the security and compliance information provided by Cambia CM. This information can also be integrated into CCMDBs configuration management reporting as well as additional IT service management processes. Further, because Cambia CM scans the network continuously, information about security and compliance configuration items will always be up-to-date, giving administrators timely views into their security and compliance posture.

Regulations are increasingly mandating that the CMDB provides visibility into whether assets are secure and in compliance with internal corporate and regulatory policies, said Joan Herbig, CEO of Cambia Security. The integration of Cambia CM and the IBM Tivoli CCMDB provides customers with a solution that meets this requirement by leveraging Cambias agentless ability to continuously gather detailed security and compliance configuration items.

The security and compliance configuration items gathered by Cambia CM add status information that customers increasingly require to meet internal and external IT auditor mandates, said Catherine Pleil, program director of Autonomic Computing for IBM. IBM is pleased to work with Cambia to jointly offer customers solutions that increase security and compliance posture to improve up-time and performance of key business systems.
