What kind of Internet connection do I need to view a LiveCast Event?
We recommend viewing our LiveCast Events from a wired connection with a download bandwidth of at least 500Kbps.  To test your speed, go to http://www.speedtest.net. Bandwidth fluctuates constantly (especially on WiFi and mobile internet), so running a few tests is recommended.

The media player automatically stops or it continually stops and rebuffers
Your player is probably experiencing network connection problems, which can occur at any time.  To alleviate network congestion, you may want to consider the following:

  • Upgrading to a faster connection
  • Minimize the amount of applications you are running while accessing the Internet

I can't hear anything (or the sound is very faint)
Check the webcast start time to make sure that the LiveCast Event has begun.  Verify that your speakers are plugged into the power outlet, turned on and up, and connected to the audio port of the computer.   If you still cannot hear any audio, check your system volume settings and the volume on the media player. If your system is properly set-up, then try adjusting the system volume settings:

Please note: low bandwidth users may experience audio streaming fluctuation.

I can access the LiveCast Event, but I cannot view the slides or the slides are not advancing.
You may need to press the play button to connect to the live stream.  If that does not help, please try refreshing the page or quitting the browser. If you have joined an event, which has already started, please be patient as the presenter controls the slides.  Your Internet connection must have sufficient bandwidth to stream both audio and video. Streaming media players often drop the video frames and play just the audio when bandwidth is not enough for transmitting both.
