Zero day PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 01 October 2006
Other than a few days consultancy I am now free to write the book. This is zero day, the day before the first....

This might be procrastination if I have not already started the book. Zero day will involve me clearing up a couple of loose ends (and my study) before I get down to the book.

This could be a classic case of sorting out the pencils and colour coding my work schedule, doing pretty much anything except what I set out to do. However, as I said, I have already started the book, so althrough today may not involve extensive writing the "little grey cells" are hard at work.

The plan for the book is to divide it into at least three parts:
  1. Art, Theory, and Philosophy
In which I will introduce to the reader all the tools and techniques they will need to implement and practice configuration management.
  2. Implementation
In which I will show the reader how to develop and run a CM implementation.
  3. Practice
In which I will cover the actual practice of configuration management, dealing with the day-to-day activities of CM.
