About the Presenters:

Ron Zorn, Independent Consultant,
Zorn Industries

Ron Zorn has over 15 years experience in the software configuration management (SCM) field. He has introduced, customized, standardized and automated tools for SCM, requirements management and data and process management into over a dozen companies, working with team sizes ranging from three to five thousand, in domains from stereo speakers to guided missiles. Ron’s viewpoint is “make the tool fit your process, not the other way around”. For the last three years, he has been a published Member of the Association for Configuration and Data Management (ACDM) and is currently on the authoring team rewriting the geia649b CM/DM Standard for the Government Electronics and Information Technology Association (GEIA).

Masa Hirvonen, Group Lead, Systems engineering, Integration and Analysis,
Honda Aircraft Company, Inc.

Currently, Masa Hirvonen is the group lead for three separate areas at Honda Aircraft Company, Inc. (HACI): Systems Engineering; Definition and development of the test facilities: Avionics and Electrical Laboratories and Advanced Systems Integration Test Facility (ASITF), and the Control System Design and Analysis (e.g. Automatic Flight Control System control law development and simulation).

HACI uses IBM DOORS requirements capture tool for capturing avionic and electrical system and sub-system level requirements as well as component level requirements. The basic systems engineering development also includes tools and processes to handle Issue Reports (a.k.a. problem reports), which is based on IBM Rational ClearQuest at HACI.

Richard Cormier, president of his own consulting company, has more than thirty-five years of experience in the IT industry, as a Quality Assurance Manager, Technical Project Manager and Requirements Management Consultant with multiple Health Care, Communications, Government, Transportation, Insurance, Financial companies. Having been exposed to many areas of IT throughout his career Richard’s primary focus over the past several years has been centered on managing, developing, and implementing the necessary methodologies and processes to insure that all business and software requirements were properly managed, tested and installed throughout the SDLC. He recently completed a successful implementation and integration of DOORS, Change, System Architect and Quality Center to support a SAP implementation at Toyota Financial Services. He also received a DOORS best presentation award at the 2006 Telelogic User Conference for his presentation on “Implementation of the Requirements Management Process”.

Andy Gurd,
Go-to-Market Manager, IBM Rational Software

Andy Gurd is responsible for the marketing strategy for IBM Rational's requirements engineering solutions for the development of complex products and systems. Prior to acquisition by IBM, Andy held a number of roles at Telelogic, over a ten year period, ranging from consultancy and training on systems modeling tools and techniques, to product management and product marketing for modeling, product portfolio management and requirements management solutions. Prior to moving into the application lifecycle management tools market, Andy worked as a systems engineer for a global systems integrator.
