This paper highlights a major shift occurring in application development: the emergence of Process-Oriented Architecture Platforms. These platforms fundamentally change the way process-driven applications are designed, developed, and deployed by providing an abstraction layer that enables developers to visually assemble applications based on business constructs – not complex software constructs. Let’s re-state that: for the first time a direct representation of the business process will exist within the application architecture. In this paper, we present an overview of Process-Oriented Architecture Platforms and how they are enabling companies today to dramatically reduce the cost, time and risk of delivering enterprise process-driven applications.
