The FX-Advanced system has been under development at the Forecast Systems Laboratory (FSL) for several years. The great success of this development is reflected in the National Weather Service's decision to incorporate the software into its AWIPS system. FSL's software configuration management has played a key role in the success of the FX-Advanced system.
