Ah, the fresh smell of a new year with the expectations and predications of what is ahead of us. It is a clean slate but most of us already have our plates full. As we think of our Configuration Management (CM) direction, we should consider where the CM field may be headed for 2005.
IMHO, I believe cost will continue to play a key role in 2005 in software engineering. We will continue to see jobs being “offshored” to low cost locations like India. We will continue to see an attempt to do more with less. With this in mind, how will “cost” impact the CM field? The envelope please...
