Michael Azoff, Senior Research Analyst Michael joined Butler Group in 2003 bringing 20 years of experience in pure and applied research and the IT industry. He started out in academic research, gaining a PhD from Sheffield University on modelling novel semiconductor devices, and subsequently contributing to the Government's IT initiatives with research work at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. This was followed by consulting and contracting roles in R & D and the IT industry, including forecasting electricity prices for a major utility, and developing a novel microwave imaging technique in an archway detector for a university start up. Michael's career has included a DTI SMART award for applying neural networks to industrial projects and published papers in academic journals, as well as a book on Neural Networks applied to forecasting. At Butler Group Michael specialises in Application Development and Business Intelligence, having lead a number of major Butler Group reports, (including Application Lifecycle Management and Application Performance Optimisation), given Butler Group Master Classes, Strategy Briefings, and symposium keynote presentations, including at vendor sponsored events. Michael is also a regular contributor to the Butler Group Review and Opinion Wire.
