At the Philips corporate research laboratories, he devised an open source-like approach to collaborative software development and deployed it across a large, central product family program in the Philips Medical Systems division. The approach deploys key aspects of open source software engineering inside an enterprise (without disrupting existing mechanisms for escalation and conflict resolution, road mapping, requirements management, and so on) to foster scalable communities in which teams can efficiently develop and maintain the diversities on others’ software. To facilitate such a collaborative approach, Mr. Jilderda introduced the CollabNet managed service at Philips Medical Systems. [ Register for this Webcast ]
