CM professionals are called upon to perform a variety of tasks that are vital to the success of any technology organization. One of my favorite opportunities is when I am told that the Release Management process is broken. That means that mistakes are made, resulting in bad releases of the code, causing system outages, project delays and many serious problems. Getting your arms around the release management process is essential for your organization to succeed. It's also a lot of fun for the CM practitioner!
