Pros and Cons When considering a major purchase, whether it is an ALM tool, a washer and dryer or office equipment, we all face the same dilemma. Should you go for the integrated all-in-one, or look at best of breed solutions?

The all-in-one gives you the peace of mind that everything will work together in a single package. There is a single vendor for support. The learning curve is pretty short.  But then what if one piece breaks or no longer supports your way of working. Do you toss the whole thing and start over. If you are talking about a $100 DVD/VHS combo the decision is not so hard, but if it’s your integrated ALM suite in which you have invested tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars and several man-months, the solution it is a bit more thought provoking. This edition of the CM Journal focuses on that very dilemma.

Also this month, check out the new Build and Release Management DevZone where you will find answers to many of your build and release management questions. http://www.cmcrossroads.com/devzone/build

As always, I look forward to your input and comments. Thank you for being part of the CM Crossroads Community.
