Version.

  1. A particular instance of an entire development project. A version is usually thought of as all the functions, features and complete builds you can use right now. Files that are managed, version-labeled and promoted by the revision management system are used to build the version.
  2. A specific state of a software configuration.
  3. More commonly in the context of Software Configuration Management, one of the possible representations of an element (a statically managed configuration item). In this sense, synonymous to revision. Version (or Revision) Control has historically been the ancestor of SCM.
