Branch: Definition

Branch is a uniquely identified sub-namespace WITHIN the name space of the version tree of a Configuration Item family.

In other words, branch is a named subset of the full Configuration Item versions set.

Branch type is the id (name) of the sub-namespace shared by all the Configuration Items within the same vob.
