Bad Advices: Best Practices

What less obvious than the advice to follow best practices?

Wait a minute? If everybody follows the best practices, who generates better practices? Nobody. Best practices means death. Life is elsewhere.

Unless you mean follow seriously. I.e. track the changes which happen elsewhere, and switch, all the time. But who said this is a best practice? Nobody. Following best practices is a bad idea^TM.
