Seems minor technical difference make all the differencePosted by: Mark Bools in MyBlog Tagged in: Untagged

If you have come here through the 'Featured Blog' link you may notice that this blog has a legacy of entries taken from my community blog on CMCrossroads. That's because this IS my community blog. It has simply been linked to from the 'Featured Blog' menu, which was a good way to get started but has resulted in a rather bizarre post explaining why I will not be posting to this blog. Obviously this is not correct.
I had been hoping that CMCrossroads would be able to take a feed from my main blog http://blog.principia-it.co.uk but apparently this cannot be done. So I am left with a choice; forego my Featured blogger status on CMCrossroads, stop updating my other blog, or do double duty and maintain both.
[Note: this post was severely truncated when I originally posted it (I have no idea why - I guess I offended the CMCrossroads blogging god), so below is what I remember of the original, reproduced for your reading pleasure]
Maintaining two blogs is simply not going to be practical and the differences in the two blogging systems makes a simply copy and paste, from my main blog to here, impractical. So what I intend is to continue regular updates on my main blog (I'm aiming for daily, but other pressures may mean day's being missed) and then either copying selected articles from that blog to here or creating posts of specific interest to the CMCrossroads community. The upshot of all this jiggery-pokery will be two blogs, each with their own character but often sharing content.
If you want to follow all my musings on things related to lifecycle management (change, build, configuration, problem, etc.) as well as business and technical issues in IT, then follow the main blog. If you're only interested in a more CMCrossroads focussed blog then follow this blog.
One big topic I will be using this blog for is the Body of Knowledge effort started last year. 2010 will be the first full year of this effort and I want us to make some progress (rather than the arm waving and 'someone ought to...' associated with past efforts.
If you have some topic you want me to cover in either blog then feel free to contact me and I will do my best to cover it. If you have feedback (good or bad) then please comment so I can make adjustments as appropriate.
