and the glitches continue....

Part of my day is often spent reviewing the Wall Street Journal and other publications to understand just how technology is impacting our lives on a daily basis. This past week I noticed articles on software glitches that involved the NYC 911 system, medical devices and large scale financial systems. We need to be concerned about these software issues as they indicate a lack of competency within our industry. We are becoming more and more dependentant upon technology. However, our ability to create robust and reliable software systems is not growing at a commensurate rate.
